As from June 2013, it became mandatory for property owners to obtain an Energy Efficiency Certificate (CEE) when selling or renting (long term) their property. This Energy Efficiency Certificate must be obtained and provided to your agent before selling or renting your property.An officially qualified architect will need to visit your property before issuing the certificate. On the visit the architect will assess a number of factors in your home, these include type of insulation if any (windows, cavity walls) type and efficiency of all heating systems (water and climate). The architects objective is to give an overall global rating which is based on the mass of CO2 produced per year by the property.
